Space Reservation Portal
About
The space reservation portal was a highly flexible and configurable product which clients could set up for their patrons to reserve meeting rooms or event space at venues and campuses around the world. Users also needed to be able to fill out their basic event details, pay for their reservation if required, and also allow for ordering catering or A/V services for the event.
Role
As the lead UX designer and researcher, I conducted user interviews and stakeholder meetings throughout the project. I collaborated with product, engineering, and clients to create personas, workflows, and interactive wireframes. I also consulted with visual designers to finalize the look and feel.
I then compiled UX specification documentation to ensure interactions, design links, and UX acceptance criteria were clearly communicated.

Challenges:
The application needed to be responsive and WCAG accessible. Ensuring the portal met the needs of a large variety of event venues and hosts with high amounts of administrative configuration was crucial. The portal had to be configurable, yet intuitive for users of all skillsets and backgrounds for a multitude of needs. Tech stack and timeline changes led to frequent design adjustments.
Result
Today, hundreds of clients are using this application to process thousands of space reservations for meetings and special events, generating revenue for our clients by creating an intuitive, self-service application. It continues to be updated and iterated upon with frequent user feedback and validation.
