Enterprise SaaS Redesign

About
Based on user feedback, we determined that it was time for the enterprise software I worked with to get a redesign. It delivers a robust range of products, modules, and services catering to the events industry. The application serves as the unified database for everything events related, whether booking space and entering data, running operations and orders, processing financial information, or handling accounts and contacts in a full CRM environment.

Role
I am the UX team lead designer in an intensive, full-system redesign project, worked on by a small team. This project has included user research, heuristic analysis, client contextual inquiry, and countless hours of discovery. I have been the component librarian in Figma throughout the process, ensuring that reusable components are implemented correctly throughout other designs, while also building out those wireframes and UI visuals. Collaborating across product teams, we have taken the old application and redesigned it to address the systemic trending usability issues and workflows.

Challenges:
The application is robust, made for multiple markets, and serves diverse and conflicting customer needs. The main challenges for design were improving client-side configuration, shifting design needs, and understanding the software modules being rebuilt. There would often be other projects calling for UX attention at the same time as the redesign effort.

Result
Clients continue to use the enterprise application across multiple versions and iterations to manage their businesses and events today. Venues and campuses globally use the software to facilitate their jobs and run events big and small.

The redesign efforts of such a large application are also generating client excitement and anticipation for the new improvements to come. The team has been asked “this is so much better - can we have it yesterday?” Currently the project is ongoing.
